I love it when God shows up in the most common places.
Today, I met a friend at the library. We talked, the kids played... it was perfection!
While we talked, a young girl, about six or seven came over and was cooing at Reagan, gave her a hug and continued playing around us. She has porcelin skin and dark brown hair and she was wearing a white Sunday dress (on a Thursday afternoon). Her blue eye were radiant with smiles that trailed behind her everywhere she went.
When I saw her mother, I thought "Wow, I can see where she gets that beautiful complexion."
As she hung around some more, I told her, "I can see where you get that beautiful complexion, you look just like your mother." She bashfully said "Thank you." And then ran over to her mother. They left (after giving Reagan another hug).
A few moments later, her mother came back over to us. "You made her day." She said. "When you told her that she looks just like me. She can't stop talking about it. You see, she's not my daughter. I'm her aunt and her guardian. Her parents passed away and her biggest fear is that people won't think that she belongs to me."
(gulp)
Why would I even think, let alone give such an unusual complement? God is the only answer. He loves that little girl so much as to reassure her that she belongs to someone. I'm so thankful He used me, but it was His idea! Praise the Lord.
