From Dive-Bombing to Driving

The adventures in eating continue as Reagan learn how to feed herself!  Ah, the freedom, the independence, the mess!  The first time we tried eating with her fingers I gave her some avocado rolled in oatmeal.  (I know it's messy.  Yes, I also know about the baby Cherrio things.)

Let me set the stage for you. 

Me: cut up avocado and roll in baby oatmeal

Reagan: watches intently as I place them on her tray

Me: pick up oatmealy-avocado and eat it (apparently showing her is the best way for her to learn)

Reagan: watches intently as I place a piece in my mouth

Me: stand away a bit and observe

Reagan: skips the whole hand-to-mouth thing and moves directly to mouth:

 

Kevin calls this dive-bombing her food.

She actually got a lot this way.

It was too slippery for this attempt to be a success.

 

"Yeah, well, what would you do? Huh?"

 

Reaga has also been working on her driving skills when we go to the gym.  She will play contentedly in this little car for at least part of my workout.

She's very serious sometimes about driving.

I think she's wondering where the closest gas station is.

And I love the toe-point while she's dive-bombing!
